With my new recording area set up, Secrets in Blood audiobook is back in recording! I practice the Italian accent by reading Italian, so that when I switch back to English, it sounds as natural as possible. I also speak in it all day. My husband and friends have accepted it as pretty much normal with me, and have stopped even mentioning it. They know I’m practicing an accent. I’m looking to narrate some short stories in Italian, and in Spanish, legends and fables, to add to my repertoire.
Recently I filled out the survey for ACX University this year. I must have joined ACX just shortly after the one for 2015, as I had missed it. I can’t wait for this next one, where hopefully I can pick up some more tips about audio engineering, to make my processing better and constantly improve.
I’ve also been writing a lot for my other books, particularly the one on home landscape design. In Plan to PLANted, I give professional tips and tricks for planning and designing your landscape. While the plants I talk about are local to southern California, the planning guidelines can be applied anywhere.
When I lived in Italy in a Fall of 2004 study abroad, I kept a daily journal in Italian, and later translated it to Enlish and elaborated in parts, originally intending to publish it as a young girl’s account in Italy. However I did not publish it then for a few reasons, or eve now many years later. From time to time I return to it and add things, remove others. The plan is to finally publish it this year and make it an audiobook as well: La Viaggiatora (The Traveller).
